Memorial day is a day to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy as Americans. Today includes those who made it through their military service and felt they could not integrate back to civilian life. 

Celerity has chosen to take the pledge to STAND up for Suicide Prevention.

The Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention (CIASP) is raising awareness about the risk of suicide within the construction industry and providing suicide prevention resources and tools to create a zero-suicide industry.

Although Memorial Day is considered the unofficial beginning of the summer, Celerity wants to take a moment to appreciate and remember the sacrifices made by our military service veterans, members, and their families.

We fully acknowledge that Celerity ’s long term success is a testament to the hard work of our employees, both present and past.

Quakertown, Pennsylvania, —Celerity announced it has achieved Platinum in Associated Builders and Contractor’s STEP Safety Management System, meaning Celerity is 655% safer than the industry average. Founded more than three decades ago, STEP has evolved into a world-class program that dramatically improves safety performance among construction industry participants.

Safety is the culture of Celerity. From the training we provide, to the controls and equipment we use at each jobsite, to the communication among our crews, we are keeping each other safe.

STEP participants measure their safety processes and policies on key components through a detailed questionnaire with the goal of implementing or enhancing safety programs that reduce jobsite incidents.

Celerity utilizes the ABC STEP Program as a guideline for our Safety Management System.  Our EMR lowered to a .838, which is an indicator of the Teams’ commitment. Celerity hired a full time Safety Professional to boost the culture of safety throughout the company. Additionally, this provides a fresh and exuberant perspective. In addition, we continue to commit resources to improve our safety practices and to bolster our Safety orientation process. We challenge our people identify and mitigate hazards as part of our daily routine. The Platinum level achievement reflects the commitment to our culture.

According to ABC’s annual Safety Performance Report, STEP participants, regardless of company size or type of work, can reduce recordable incidents up to 8%s making the best performing companies more than eight times safer than the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics industry average. Ratings range from Diamond, the highest, to Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Participant.
